Q&A with the director following the screening
That Never Happened provides a fascinating historical recounting of Canada’s World War 1 internment operations whereby over 80,000 East  European immigrants, mostly Ukrainian, were forced to register as “enemy aliens”.  Some 8000 individuals who failed to register or were unemployed or simply indigent, were put into forced labour camps under armed guard. Beginning n the 1980’s, several individuals took it upon themselves to reclaim this forgotten chapter in Canadian history.
